        About NABA Lansing Professional Chapter

In the spring of 1991, Gail Sparks Hilliard and several other accountants and financial professionals sought to begin a professional Lansing Chapter in the capital city area. At the time, there was already a student chapter at Michigan State University. The result of this early effort was that over 40 accountants, financial and business professionals, employed in non-profits, private industry, and in state government, established the Lansing Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc.

Some other accomplishments and contributions in the community include:

  • For years we supported the United Negro College Fund’s Telethon, through providing accounting services in preparation for, during and after the event.

  • We provided community tax support, for the elderly, infirmed, and those with lesser means, through our collaboration with VITA.
